Standing high at 1730m, Srinagar, the capital of the Kashmir valley has a spread over the two sides of the highly significant Jhelum River. The scenic view of this landscape is accentuated by the presence of the two big lakes- Nagin and Dal and the changes in the season enhance the climatic pleasure that the residents of the place enjoy. All of these attract tourists from India and abroad all through the year.

The Mughal Gardens
The enchanting charm induced by this tourist attraction sends sparkling ripples in to the hearts of men with its fresh-water fountains, cascading streams, airy pavilions and limpid pools. This garden was exclusively constructed for the Emperors of the Mughal dynasty and beholds a huge array of hued flowers with scents spreading far and wide. The Nishat Bagh lingers to the border of the Dal Lake and was built by the brother of Empress Nur Jahan, Asaf Khan. Chashmi-e Shahi or the Royal Spring, is considered the smallest garden that comes with illuminations. Moreover, the spring to which this place owes its origin, is supposed to have medicinal value. The Shalimar Bagh, also called the Abode of Love, was built by the Emperor Jahangir to celebrate the beauty of his wife, Nur Jahan, and happens to be the popular one among the three.
Fishing at Pahalgam
The river, Lidder, is well known for brown trout, making the place famous for fishing. The season for fishing starts from April and ends in September every year. You will however, need to gain access to permit for fishing and nothing more than three day is allowed for fishing. You are charged per rod and per day basis through a first come-first serve method. You can hire fishing equipments in Srinagar with the exception of spinning and live baits, which are strictly not allowed for fishing in this region. You can apply for permit to the Directorate of Fisheries, located in the Tourist reception Centre, Srinagar.
Day 1: Arrival Srinagar
After landing in Srinagar, you will be shown the way to the deluxe houseboat for putting up. Once you are fresh, visit the Mughal Gardens. Enjoy the night in the houseboat with a hearty dinner on board.
Day 2: Tour to Pahalgam
On the second day, you will leave Srinagar to reach the Upper Lidder Valley in Pahalgam where you can get to work. This place is famous for trout fishing. You will spend your night at Pahalgam after a hard day’s fishing.
Day 3: Back to Srinagar
On the third day, you will continue fishing in the lower Lidder Valley. Later in the day, you can get back to Srinagar and re-check into the deluxe houseboat for resting at night.
Day 4: Tour to Sonmarg
Day 4 will take you to the Upper Sindh Valley in Sonmarg for more of trout fishing. You can spend the entire day fishing out more and more trout fish. The night will be spent in Sonmarg.
Day 5: Back to Srinagar
Final day of fishing in the lower Sindh Valley and you return to where you started from- Srinagar. Get back to your deluxe houseboat and rest for the night out here.
Day 6: Leaving Srinagar
On the last day, you can go to the Dal Lake for a Shikhara ride and you will be safely taken back to the airport to get back home.
